CFC recognizes other agencies for the wonderful work they are doing.  One particular project that CFC would like to recognize is the training being offered by NAMI TX for professionals in the fields of mental health and children’ needs called Visions for Tomorrow for Professionals.

VFT for Professionals is a six hour in-service training session service, designed for those who work with children and adolescents that have a diagnosed mental illness or who have other special needs.

The purpose of the Professional In-Service Training session is to:

• To educate professional about the NAMI Texas, and the VFT curriculum        
• To engage the professional in identifying ways in which VFT can become helpful to families
• To assist the professional in his/her interactions with the child and parents

By using the same strategies and teaching skills, Professionals can expect to develop a deeper level of understanding for children with mental illness and their families’ needs and also establishing a higher level of empathy for their clients and referrals.
